I am new immigrant to be America for 1 year. I have the social security number, the green card and also the driver license in California. Am I eligible to be a citizen in the USA?

what does the top of the card say? There are many types of legal status and if it is an employment authorization that isn't a green card but it is legal status. The card must say Alien Registration Receipt Card and indicate that it is permanent residency. If it says that then you must continue with it for five years of continuous residency in the US (no more than 180 days combined outside the US) You must also make sure that you do not violate any laws in the US and you must have all of your taxes for every year filed and they must be paid. After that you can file for citizenship which is N 400 and pay the fees involved as well as take a test and go to an interview. If you do not pass the test they give you two more chances.

You can become a citizen if you meet the following requirements:
you have been a legal permanent resident for five years, or three years if you are married to a U.S. citizen
you have lived in the U.S. for at least 2-1/2 years (50%) of the five year period, or 1-1/2 years (50%) if you are married to a citizen
you have lived for more than three months in the state where you apply for citizenship
you are 18 years or older
you have good moral character

After 5 years of permenant residency you can apply for citizenship and take the test.

3 years if it is based on marraige.
