Yesterday in school I did something really stupid and because of it I have to endure a long talk (the second one on what i did) from my favorite teacher on Monday. She is still nice to me but she is really dissappointed in what I did. I didn't think it was that bad at the time and I still don't (though I'm really sorry) and I hate when people talk to me because of something I did wrong. I wrote her a short note saying I was really sorry but I'm still going to have to talk to her? I am really emotional so I'm sure I will cry no matter what but how can I help my mind prepare a little?

I think you're doing the first big step. You are thinking about the talk and are preparing for it. Some people might run away from it but you're not. I think you'll do fine. You just have to go through the steps, own up to what it is that you did, and then continue on. We all make mistakes and that is OK. Sometimes, we make choices that we regret but you'll make some more. Working through this will help you for other talks you may have in the future.

Go ahead and have the talk. Treat this like a learning experience. Your teacher is there to teach you and this is a teaching experience. If this is a good teacher, then keep in mind that teachers understand that you are still growing and maturing as a person. A good teacher will still see the real you, appreciate you for who you are, and be honored to be able to guide you through things like this.

It is OK to feel guilty about what you did. Accept any guilt you need to accept and then get through it. Don't shame yourself. You are still a good person, have value, and have a wonderful life ahead of you. Good luck! I am excited that you are working through this.

I know. I always hated the talks worse than being punished. Do you know why? Its because you really respect the opinion of this teacher and you don't want her to think badly of you. You must be a good girl and tender hearted. Here's something I just thought of. Sit down and write a heartfelt letter of apology. Ask her to please read it before the talk begins. Include in the letter that her opinion of you is very important and you are hurt because you have disappointed her. This will save her having to talk to you so much about it.
And then stop worrying. All we can do in this life is apologize and move ahead. Growing up is all about trial and error. And for all the people here who want to critisize you for making a mistake, they know they have certainly had their share of them as well. But it must not have helped them much for them to still be such judgmental assholes lol. Best of luck to you, dear.

There is a rule in improvisational theater that you always agree with the speaker. I think it applies to you in this case. Pretend that you are acting a part and agree with each thing as it happens and add to it when you can. You have to be careful not to agree to some additional work or anything like that.

I think it will make the time go by faster and maybe make the teacher feel that she got her point across earlier.

Go in, sit down, listen to what she has to say, get up, leave.
Learn from the experience.

Dreading it only makes it worse, just do it when the time comes.

It sounds like you need to come to grips with being accountable for what you do. In other words, if you don't want to face the consequences, then don't do what you know is wrong.

maybe you could write down what you are going to say to your teacher and try and remember it so that you know what your going to say, and aren't so nervous then. sorry but as i don't know what you did i cant help any more than that!
hope its all OK
