EASY answer: Go buy The South Beach Diet. Very healthy.. and is a diet that is actually a way of life.. You're body is not meant to eat enriched mac-n-cheese and refined carbs.. we are meant to eat whole grains and whole grain pasta and etc. Lean meats and lower carb veggies. This is a way of life... and it helps get you started fast by loosing from 8-14 pounds in the first 2 weeks. Worked for me.. especially after having a baby. Good luck.

Eat fewer calories than you take in... cardio exercise 4 or 5 days a week for 60 minutes... limit your fats to "healthy fats" (monounsaturated, found in nuts and certain oils) and not saturated or trans fats... make sure majority of your carbohydrates are from whole grain sources, and contain no refined sugars... 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day... avoid any beverages that contain high fructose corn syrup (sodas and many, many fruit juices have this).

Eat frequently throughout the day, always eat breakfast and don't eat three hours before bedtime.

Don't think of it as a "diet" and it should be very easy to maintain- it's a matter of being healthy and being in control of your own body.

When you eat out, modify everything. Ask for no mayonnaise, dressing on the side, fat-free dressing, wheat bread, half portions, share with a friend... YOU are a paying customer and they should cater to however you prefer. But you really should try cutting back on eating out because it seems that even when you eat out & modify your meals at restaurants you are still consuming way more calories than you would at home.

This doesn't cost anything. You will probably save money by buying healthier food, especially if you are eventually able to cut back on your meals out.

I hope this helps, good luck in your weight loss journey :)
