Today Bush spoke about vetoing any plan for defunding the war and setting a timetable. He said that he will not change the battle plan for anything. If congress had enough votes to override the veto, would president Bush and generals change the plans to take soldiers off the streets and create a new plan of training Iraqi's, or would Bush stick with the plan that would kill American soldiers off so that he could rev up his poll numbers and blame the Democrats for the lost lives? This is not probable because it is not likely that Republicans would vote for such a bill for another three to four years, but if they did come up with enough votes for the override, do you think bush would stick with his word that all the soldiers lives lost will be the Democrats fault and that the plan will never change, even if Barney the dog and his wife are the last two supporting the war?

If we can over-ride the veto, our plan becomes THE plan.

Well the plan most likely won't make it through the senate, let alone President Bush. If they did override the veto I believe there would be an overwhelming outcry for the limitation of Congress' powers over our ability to fight a war. I personally would be calling and writing every congress-person in my state.
I am appalled that they have messed around and wasted a month on this stupid plan that has so much pork attached to it its co-sponsored by Jimmie Dean Sausage. Its ridiculous and a blatant attempt to BUY votes in the house. Where is the media out cry over this?!? Oh yeah, liberal media...
They must pass something before mid-April. The current funds end then. A good portion of congress is scheduled to be on vacation then....so I hope something gets done. President Bush has been very upfront that he will veto any funding Bill that sets a timetable....he will keep his word.
There is still a lot of support for this war, I hear it personally from each person that finds out I am a veteran of OIF.
This show of weakness by our Democrat led House is a sure morale boost for the terrorist and has shown Iran that we have no stomach for war. It most definitely has emboldened that regime.

The war plan presented today (3/23/07) passed with a very close vote in the house. This means that if Pres. Bush does not approve of a bill, there will not be the number of votes sufficient to override his veto.

I, personally, don't know anyone who wants to go to war, but there are a few nuts who shall remain nameless here -- who seem to thrive on it. We cannot afford to have the terrorists win and subject us to mind control.

With all due respect, I hope you don’t confine your news sources to broadcast media and liberal networks like CNN. Do yourself a favor and give FOXNEWS a chance. You will find some liberal and some conservative hosts. You will see film clips and hear audio sound bytes you will not have seen or heard on broadcast media. My favorite program is hosted by Brit Hume — just straightforward news, not cutsey or accompanied by drum rolls, etc. See the last segment of his daily broadcast where democrats and republicans discuss important issues of the day.

1. There is good news in Iraq. Baghdad remains the worst holdout and we are currently trying to change that.
2. There are hospitals, schools, electricity and running water in many places in Iraq. Were you aware of that?
3. President Bush’ tax cuts took 3 years to kick in, but we have the best economy on the planet with a less than 5 percent unemployment rate. Did you know that?
4. Whatever Pres. Bush has done, we have not had a horrific attack such as “9/11” since that time. How many times have you heard that stressed?
5. Independent examinations of the votes in Florida proved that although Pres. Bush won by an unbelievably small margin, he did win — fair and square. Did you know that?

I do not claim that Pres. Bush is infallible, but I do believe he was not given a fair chance since Day 1 of his presidency. He may have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, a no-nonsense businessman, but is not a good public speaker. There are others who may be good public speakers, but who I would not trust as far as I could throw them.

Our intelligence was not the only intelligence to claim Saddam had WMDs, and you may recall Pres. Clinton claimed this some years ago. Congress saw the same proof presented to Pres. Bush about WMDs and voted him authority to proceed. Now they say they were duped. If they know all the answers, how come they were duped?

Hear and see both sides of an issue before you make up your mind.

Hmmmm... are you severe?!... We destroyed the government of Iraq and via international regulation we won't be able to flow away till there's a central authority in place to guard the human beings... the real concern is.. that a large style of the human beings interior the country are of one faith that doesn't comprehend the rights of the the remainder of the human beings and visa versa... so that is not straightforward to establish a democratic government... by way of this, that is going to take us approximately 2 generations to alter the recommendations-set of the human beings there with the intention to renowned that human beings of all faiths have specific rights, not in basic terms those of the governing faith... 2 generations.. or approximately 40 years of toiling interior the desolate tract... If congress cuts the investment and forces our troops out then the government will fall down and a few type of vicious dictatorship will take over and there will be chaos for a time.. many harmless lives lost.. many power struggles.. and probably the faiths with the less numbers would be eradicated... so, sure.. this could be political suicide for people who vote for it.

Congress can defund, he can veto the bill. Congress would then have to have enough votes to override the veto. By the the people that support the president on keeping terrorism at bay and in the middle east would be ready to press for treason charges against many members of congress for aiding and abetting terrorism.

The Democrats do not care about the troops. The only thing they are looking at is the next election.

They intend to win the elections regardless of how many people die.
