on the news like it is,that way we can see how ugly it is for our troops.they showed us how bad it was for our guys in veit nam on tv,and we would tear up seeing how the real thing was.now if i got hit i want the public to see that it is not just a game this is real our troopers are going through real hell and our children must know what being a trooper is all about i have been a trooper .i would also like to add that not all of these guys and women get mail,some joined because they just had nothing in their lives now they do.and now the millitary is their family ,write to them,tell them we miss them and that their ball team will bat one home for them.i am thinking how lonley it was when i was in NO one sent me a letter,God bless them

I disagree in part. I'm a Vietnam veteran and the bloodshed shown on TV was simply for coverage credibility and ratings. The soldier knows the devastation and the civilian populace--unless they've gone through similar situations--will never understand nor appreciate the sacrifices made.

Too many people are numbed because of war movies any way. Adults think as children; that they will get up when the scene ends. Not so in real life war and not comprehensible to those living outside reality.

Furthermore, the families of those brave soldiers getting killed shouldn't view them--plain and simple. Mourning is bad enough without additional nightmares filling their lives.

Grisly war images are purposely not shown to the public. The support for a war would be greatly diminished if people saw what was really going on.

They want to show us as noble liberators. You answered your own question. If people knew the truth they would not be so gung ho to go off and fight
