NO, NO, NO. Children should be allowed to be CHILDREN first. When they get older and can make their own decisions, fine, let them have adult stuff.

No, children only have 17 years to be a child and the rest of their life to be an adult. No one should be in a hurry to grow up. "Adult stuff" is for adults for a reason, you need to be old enough to use it wisely, which comes from experience mostly.
