Just ignore their rudeness. It's totally uncalled for. I speak German pretty well, and if I were on the german yahoo answers and they made me feel stupid by focusing on a few grammatical errors even though they could still understand me, I'd be heartbroken and probably scared off.

I agree with you. It is important to for some people to realise that a less that perfect mastery of a foreign languase is not neccesserily a valid reason for looking down at people, (attitude, which by the way shows nothing but pettiness and insufferable intelectual snobbery). the most important is to try to better oneself's own knowledge and not to be detter from that kind of behavior. After all the writer of the Heart of Darkness (the book upon which the film Apocalypse Now is based upon) was not a native English speaker and this is apparent to his book which despite that handicap is still concindered a masterpiece of world litterature.A world of advice to anyone who mocks the the perceived weakness of others; DO NOT DO TO THE OTHERS WHAT YOU DO NOT WISH TO BE DONE TO YOU. Otherwise try to write in any other languase expect English, let us say French, or Ancient Greek for example and then we are going to discuss your level of knowledge

These "crappies" (whoever they are) sound pretty rude and they should give you credit for trying to speak the language. I think your english sounds okay.
LOL... It think its funny if americans cannot speak english because aren't they mostly describe as a "melting pot" system where they expect everyone to speak english?
... but even some places like in Quebec, I'd say about half or some people won't even talk to you unless you know french. At the university at my place, (depending on the prof) international students don't necessarily have to write perfectly in english (in long answer questions or essays) as long as they understand the material. So yea do your best!

Because most people on the English site of Yahoo Answers are American OR from an English-speaking country, they forget that not everyone is a native English-speaker and not everyone who comes here lives in an English-speaking country.

You could have fooled me!!!
According to the way you write English, I'd say you have no problem at all. In fact it's near perfect and far better than a lot of the rubbish I see posted on this site from native speakers! So I wouldn't worry too much if I were you about the way some people respond to your questions or answers. Put it down to ignorance and just downright nastiness on the part of those who don't have anything better to do with themselves except be condescending!!!
Cheer up, chin up and carry on posting ;)))

It is unfair. Some people are just stuck up in the idea that people should all learn to speak English, so they won't have to learn a different one. I think it's just stupid to criticize the way someone speaks (types), when if they tried to learn your first language, they would probably sound like a moron.

Ignore them. You obviously speak English better than they speak your language or any other. Just give them thumbs down, their answers will be hidden and you can concentrate on the decent answers.
And your english seems pretty good to me.

Why do you care??
Just do your best when writing, use the spell checker and read your answer again before sending it. Those are the only things you can control, what people think is not in your hands. There will always be jerks in these public forums...

They're a bunch of rednecks.
English is my 4th language, but would you notice? Well, I did score pretty well on my IELTS...
Your English seems fine, I mean, there are loads of posts here that are quite difficult to be understood but yours is ok...
