In the US, neurologists are physicians (MDs or DOs).
The sequence typically goes like this:
1. Bachelors degree--- 4 years
2. Medical School---4 years
3. Internship/Residency---4 years

Some neurologists subspecialize in electrophysiology, cerebrovascular diseases, pediatric neurology, movement disorders. Fellowships in these areas may add 2-3 more years.

Here is information from an excellent program:

Done.

To become a neurologist you have to go through the 4 years of undergraduate college and get a bachelors degree. Then 4 years of medical school. And then 3-8 years of internship and residency. You need to pass a medical board exam,or course, and get certified in neurology by each state that you wish to work in.
