There is this guy that i like, and he flirts with me sometimes, but i really can't tell weather or not he likes me. Today he started playing footsie with me but when we're with other people he is totally different. He's really talented at the guitar and is also kinda popular. What should i do? Does he like me? Please help!

i think that he might like you but maybe becuase hes popular he doesnt want his friends to know that he likes you. next time play footsie back with him to show that you like him. also get his aim and ask him if hes interested in you.

Well I'll tell you what - I don't just play footsie with someone I'm not interested in.
And the reason he may act different when around other people is he may be afraid of someone being like "Are you two dating?" and him being put on the spot.
It's definitely some sort of shyness OR dare I say it, embarrassment. He's totally comfortable being with you but there is some reason - either he needs to not look look like a girly man in front of his friends - or maybe other people think not much about you and even though he has feelings for you he isn't dating you so he can act as if nothing is really happening.
Take your pick.

It sounds like he does like you, but it's hard to say. So, what do you do?
I'd say that you wait for the next time he starts flirting. When he goes to start playing, you stop him, look at him with a playful look, and ask, "Are you going to ask me out, or what?"
If he asks you out then you've got your answer. If he says 'no', then you can blow it off like it was no big deal. Of course, he could give you a 'stall' answer. This is probably the most fun since you get to play with the poor boy while he gives you his answer since the answer will then tend to be 'yes', but he's shy.
I know, this probably seems hard to do, but at least this way you'll have an answer. And the worst thing that can happen is that you're a little bit embarrassed for a while. Between you me and the rest of the Internet community? I think the odds are he'll ask you out.

The fact that he acts different in front of other people tells me that his intentions may be merely physical and that he doesnt like you in a relationship way. However, he may be afraid of embarrasing himself or being rejected in front of other people. I would just have a little conversation with him and ask him, what does all of this mean? Anything? Nothing? Somewhere in between?

You need to read the book "he's just not that into you" if he acts differently in front of others he is either taken or just leading you on. Just ask him what his intentions are next time he comes on to you.

that sounds very similer to what happend with me. i found out he was a total flirt and he was doing the same thing with my bestfriend! hes just lookin for some action, dont fall for him, dont be afraid to reject him and pull ur foot away next time.(and give him a boot) jk jk bout that

I think he likes you but he doesn't want to show it in public for fear of being publicly rejected by you. Stop trying to second-guess him. Just come right out and ask him if he's interested!
