Compared to what?
If comparing to tap water that is because the cholorine is removed and that effects taste, the best way to drink filtered water is chilled.

Our obsession with water has brought us to this point. All water should have trace elements and minerals in it as it comes from the Earth and is filtered through rocks and dirt. To filter out or distill out everything from water is not good for you. Without the things that belong in water, It tastes like nothing of this Earth. I drink tap water and love it as the government makes sure it meets standards. Bottled waters meet no standards at all - ever. Obsession means you are drinking whatever they want to give you.

Filtered or Distilled water is not good for you.
Do you know it is actually harmful to your teeth and bones?
That said, you are used to the taste of chlorine and flouride. When you drink the tap water, you think it is fresh because you 'expect' a mild chlorine smell that you do not even know exists. You are conditioned to a particular taste and smell. Hope this answers.

Because you not used to it probably. Even if you drank tap water from another town a few miles away it might taste differnetly because of different hardness and softness of the water.

Filtered Tap water is awful, chemical foul taste. I have tasted better from the rivers.
