I'm doning my final 40% of the exam project at the moment and am having big problems. We have 6 weeks to fill a sketch book with ideas media experiments, studies of other artists etc before having 10 hours to complete a final piece or 'conclusion' to the 6week work.
We had a choice of 12 startin points. I liked da look of memories' and 'wings and feathers' and chose 'memories' because after my other projects being on animals my teacher said i shoud do somethin abstract.
Anyway weve had 4weeks so far. I'd kept on getting stuck 4ideas and haven't done that much and the last week my grandfather passed away. Without knowin this one lesson my teacher was talkin to me about what i could do with my project: make a movin film about death, lost memories etc. (my teacher likes the death, depression side of art) at which i burst into tears and left the room. I can't do 'memories' anymore. Its too painful. Shall i start again and do 'wings n feathers' instead? I hav da easter hols at least

I believe complete oppostite to my teacher. I believe in creating art that's beautiful, inspirational, uplifting and something to be proud of. Not death and mangled faces like he does. If i made this film it'd make me cry far more than any1 else. I'd rather do wings and feather's: freedom

She didn't mean to upset you and you have every right to grieve in your own way and in your own time.

Start again. It's clean and new and might help you gain a new perspective on life

Emotion is expressed by art so well and I expect if you stick with memories you will produce an amazing piece of art work. I know it will be very hard for you and I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. Maybe you could do memories as a tribute to him, maybe you can find the good that you remember and express this in your art.

Go with wings & feathers. The death thing is too depressing. Wings and feathers will be much more inspirational. Good luck. It reminds me of when my son was doing his art 'A' level. I spent hours posing for him. Aarrrggg. All worthwhile, he's now a working artist/animator!

My son has carried out his paintings GCSE and that i comprehend how no longer hassle-free it incredibly is. in case you like the belief approximately wings and feathers you ought to comprise that interior the reminiscence what got here to concepts for me became the thought-approximately doing some pages of the impact of wings as related to angels and incorportate some sketchs of them related to a reminiscence regarding your grandfather. If she needs you to be precis that certainly may be. Dont permit it stress you out i comprehend you childrens can do this.

Be strong and stick with the "Memories". Put your heart into it and it will show true emotions, which I believe makes art a great outlet for healing. If you face your pain and let it out, it will be easier. Good luck to you and I offer my condolences! First things first, don't say that you CAN'T do anything. Tell yourself that you CAN do anything!

Hmm...is it really hard to continue with it...I mean to be honest, i know its sad and it will be hard for you, but if you've already started with 'Memories' than you should continue with it. However painful it is, there is no point in starting all over again.

I'm so sorry, that was pretty insensitive not to find out what was bothering you. And it's scary she likes that topic.
