Heaven is a real place...which i believe we experience bits of it in this life...in our relationship with God...when we see the one God...they creator of all, caring enough to make us know he loves us...make us know we;re forgiven...:)...to me these are bits of heaven...that we see on earth; the biblical heaven is not only "gold street[as answered above]" it's also: " and this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent"(John 17:3)-"know" here means intimately know and live..once you know God is truly personally your...and know that He chooses to call you; specifically you-you'll know what i am talking about...ask for it..
Also unlike one of the answers said, believing Christians don't keep worrying about the after life instead of enjoying this life. that is for 2 reasons:1-things in this world become of less importance, when you-in a way-know and really touch God's love which is beyond anything one can get from this life...which is great [his creation..] 2-"There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1)-so a believing Christian does not worry about eternity, but has faith he has it-even if he falls for there's no condemnation on him once he has received Christ and at seeing his Love...decided to live for him, and does the best way he can and even better than he can-b/c it's God's spirit within him that does so...

i think heaven is a very real place to christians. they are taught from childhood that it exists and they should do anything to get there. if they don't go there, their soul burns in hell for all eternity.
they are free to belive that, who i am to judge, but i just think it's somewhat sad that they worry so much about the after life (which they have no proof of) instead of focusing on the wonderful life on earth (which most certainly exists)

As far as we know, heaven is a story created by humankind to placate fears about death and create a system of justice based on religious doctrine.
There is no evidence that any form of life survives death, or that there is a personal god who judges our every actions.
I'd say to make the best of this life, either way. :-)

Any afterlife is a product of your imagination. If you read Viking near death experiences they speak of being in Valhalla while Greek NDEs talk of crossing the river Styx. Whatever afterlife you imagine exists is what you will get so be careful what you wish for.

Of course it is. And in their imagination it's pretty much a private club just for them and for people who think like them. In the real world, such a place would be completely illegal because of discrimination.

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what i (or anyone) could think of or imagine. - ephesians 3:20
perhaps that's why there is very little known of what heaven is like.
