I had a cockatiel years ago. She got really sick but the vet I went to (and worked for at the time) didnt treat birds. Fortunately for me, one of the vets that worked there knew a woman who treated birds, and referred me to her. Call your vet and ask them if they know anyone who works on birds, if they dont, call other local vets in your area, and ask them if they treat birds, or know anyone who does. If you still have no luck then open your phone book to the yellow section and search birds. You might be able to find someone this way. You might even want to try calling local pet stores and see if they can recommend anyone, or if they have a "Specialist" for their birds that can also treat yours. Good luck and I hope your baby is alright.

Have you tried contacting a local bird rescue in your area. A lot of them do release and rescue programs on wild birds. I know the one in Delaware the Vets are trained to handle all types of birds. I have taken a few wild and a domesticated bird to them. You should try to find them it may take some research on the Internet.

A bird should never be left to walk or fly around the home unsupervized.

I sorry for the injury to your friend.

If there are no vets that will see her; keep her as comfortable as you can, and watch her closely.

Maybe another vet outside of town will see her. Check your yellow pages.

for a pet bird as long as she doesnt die it wont really matter if the wing heals a bit crooked.

The muscle in the wing is often strong enough to hold the bone in position.

look in the phone book PRONTO. I own a bird too and there is always someone. she will be ok if you get help as fast as you can. the only way to make sure this doesnt happen again is to warn your mom to watch her steps. give your cockatiel lots of love and attention, and it will be like this never happened.

Your bird NEEDS to see a vet ASAP! If anything else, she will need pain meds!

Call all the vets and see if they will consult with an avian vet if need be, but someone NEEDS to see her. If not, they are denying help to an animal in need. Try looking up a vet here http://aav.org/vet-lookup/
