Banana and milk is a very good combination for acidity. Avoid spicy, fried and hot foods, tea, coffee, alcohol, and smoking. Do not skip meals. Have meals at proper intervals. Drink at least 10 - 12 glasses of water. Mint juice, jeera water, and watermelon juice are found to be very effective.

To Stay Away From Acidity
**Consume a small piece of jaggery after having all three meals and see what wonders it can do to keep acidity away.
**Take a cup of water and boil it. Add 1 tsp of Aniseed (Saunf) to the water and leave it overnight. On the next morning, filter the water and add 1 tsp of honey to it. Drink it thrice a day and bid goodbye to acidity.
**Take a cardamom and a clove and powder it. Consume it like a mouth freshener after having your each meal. Not only this remedy will take care of your acidity problem, but also will keep away bad breath.
**Take about 1-½ liters of water and add 1 tsp Caraway seeds (shah jeera) to it. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Drink it while warm at least 2-3 times a day for 5-6 days.
How to Get Rid of Acidity
I've learned that stomach acid isn't a bad thing as long as there isn't too much. A lot of times when your stomach hurts, it's because there isn't enough acid in your stomach to help digest all the food you've eaten. This is the reason that we get heartburn or acid reflux when we eat big meals or meals that are high in fat.
Steps
Drink lots of water, it's always good for you and helps with digestion
Look into taking digestive enzymes. GNC and other vitamin and even natural food stores have these supplements. Usually they are papaya and or pineapple. They contain Papain and Bromelin which are natural enzymes that help the stomach digest food.
Pay attention to when you have acid problems. Maybe you are allergic to a certain food or maybe you need to adjust your diet
Try cutting out acid inducing foods like caffeine (how many cups of coffee do you have a day?), tomatos, alcohol, high fat foods, spicy foods. See if this makes a difference
Relax. Look at your stress level. Stress can cause stomach acidity issues as well as other health problems. Start exercising or meditating.
Talk to your doctor. There may be more wrong than you think and you can get help.
Tips
Don't assume that your stomach is over producing acid, make your doctor test the amount of acid in your stomach. They can actually do that.
Don't overdo it on antacids, they can do more harm than good.
Do the research, it's well worth it
ask friends and family, so many people deal with this that they may have some suggetions!
