1. Whenever the tattoo is fully healed, however I would stay away from salt water for about a month, the salt will eat at the tattoo and screw it all up.
2. Depends on the person, all of mine that didnt get infected took roughly 8 days to be healed, then another week to be fully healed. You will know when it is fully healed, and the tattoo artist will let you know anyways.
3. The sun honestly doesnt really fade a tattoo, its how the tattoo is applied and how much ink is put into it and how deep it goes. Otherwise all the tattoos on my forearms would have atleast began to fade by now, but they are still as dark as they were when they were fully healed.
4. Good luck and love the attitude about knowing and getting what you want, dont let anything stop you. Also it is a good idea if you stop tanning about a week or so before you get the tattoo, this way it will be easier on your skin and will be better off from the beginning. And make for damn sure to wash your hands before putting anything on it, and dont let people touch it, unless they too wash their bacteria infested hands. Thats the number one thing that leads to infections.

After you get a tattoo, it doesn't fully, FULLY, heal until the skin stops peeling and the new skin is set (about a month). Some people take longer than that.
Protect your tattoo area by using a sunblock with an SPF rating of at least 35, or your tattoo will start to look like a Rorschach inkblot test as you get older.
Cheers and have fun in the sun

if you don't care that your tattoo will fade then it doesn't matter. as soon as your tattoo is healed (about two weeks) you can expose it to sun and let the ink start breaking down and your tattoo will begin to fade. depending on just how much time you spend in the sun and tanning it could only take 3-7 years for your tattoo to look like total crap. good luck!

No tanning for 30 days. NO swimming either! Sorry sweety. If you even try your going to be in a world or hurt. You could end up scarring the tissue so bad that it will look like crap the rest of your life.
use at least a 45 sunblock. waterproof. apply alot. alot of girl wear thier hair down, it would be nice if you could cover that area perhaps ...some amout of sun will still get through...so its not like a huge white area will be ther..your tat will..right? dont let sun ruin it.

You can tan a couple days after you get the tattoo......however, whenever you get in the tanning bed you will have to cover that area up.............any tattoo will fade in the sun and over time...................
What I do is I cover it in the tanning bed, but leave it exposed in the real sun (because it looks stupid to cover it in public)
Make sure you put bacitracin on the tattoo 2-3 times daily untill the scab is gone!
Good Luck!
Just remember that every tattoo fades!
