This guy painted a portrait of me, and I've held on to it for many years, probably about 14 years I've had it.
Anyway, one of his friends came over and saw it, and he told the guy I still have it. He said he blushed.
What does that mean?

I think he was flattered that it meant so much to you that you still have it. Maybe he didn't have a lot of confidence in his work and it made him feel special.

I don't think it means a thing. Why don't you call him and meet for coffee and talk over old times. Maybe he'd like to see the pic again. Sounds like you might be interested in him.

hes happy that the friend didnt find his painting in the garbage! and mayb thinkng of taking painting as a full time profession.

It means blood corpuscles in his face moved closer to the skin's surface give a reddish appearance.
