Yikes!!!!
I had salmonella a couple of years ago and I remember the MD telling me the only dangerous aspect of this type of illness is dehydration. I went to the MD after a full night and early am with these kind of symptoms and he immediatly gave me an IV with fluids and with a strong nausea medication which helped with the stomach contractions. It took me about a month to get over it... The first 4 to 5 days I did not eat ANYTHING....... GAtorade was key in small quantities.
I did not have insurance which is why I am guessing that I did not have to go inpatient but I remember my bill only being about $200 and they worked it out with me..
Good luck.... I know that one was one of the most horrific things that ever happened to me and I cringed when I read your post..... Take care

I would definitely get him some medical help. they will be able to give him something for the fever, which will help. It maybe food poisoning or it could just be a bug. take him to the ER, they will check him over and do the tests to find out. they may also give him some fluids to keep him hydrated.
First thing for you to do though is to calm down, reassure him that you are there for him, and if you are going by car, make sure you take lots of towels and sick bags or bowls.
I think every time my boyf is sick he manages to do it in the car, so now i take those things everywhere as standard.
hope he feels better soon.

Take him to local ER. Here in Arkansas, we have a new strain of stomach bug going around that makes people
really ill. I've known 6 adults who had to be put in the hospital for 3 days with it. Several children.
The symptoms you describe him having, sounds like what is going around here.

Food poisoning or virus. Might be time for a trip to the E.R. or urgent care. If it's something like salmonella then they can give him an IV of antibiotics...at the very least they can rule out if it is viral and give him an IV of fluid and some anti-nausea medicine...that will DEFINITELY make him feel MUCH better....very quickly.

It is possible that it is food poisoning, but the only real test to confirm this must be performed by a doctor, who will need a stool sample. If you believe he has food poisoning, get him to the doctor and provide the sample and details of what was eaten in the last 24 hours...

either food poisoning or flu!
1. Ibuprofen for the fever and body aches
2. drink a lot of fluids with electrolytes (lemon-lime soda, gatorade)
3. lots of sleep!
Unless his fever to way too high! He should go to the hospital then!

The first thing you need to do is to get him to the doctor. Take him to the emergency room if you don't have a regular doctor. Don't stress about the cost. Your husband's health is much more important. Good luck to you.

Food poisoning doesn't raise the temperature a lot. This sounds more like a stomach virus
I would say it's a good idea to bring him to the MD to see what's going on.
Cheers
