Likely so. He was no stooge. And Napoleon's astronomers understood a thing or two about religion, as well:

Pierre Laplace, when asked by Napoleon on why he made no mention of a god in his book on astronomy: "Sire, I have no need of that hypothesis."

wonderful, purely wonderful ~~ has given what I planned to be an fairly solid answer.. And on the time Napoleon mentioned that, China had a coverage of Isolation... the WEST compelled China to open up and commerce with the West. It bring about the decline if the Qing Dynasty, that for the duration of turn bring about instable government , and finally the Communists took over.... China although has benefited financially from Western commerce... and the snoozing extensive has awoken ...THE WEST could be paying now for waking the snoozing extensive.... the international might have been so distinctive.. had China been left on my own.. Japan additionally might have been an entirely distinctive u . s . .. as they witnessed what had taken place in China , and after Perry sailed in and demanded the ultimate to commerce.. the eastern realised that it replaced into extra effective to settle for the west than combat it ( as china had tried to do) ... purely think of of the differenced.. Had the west not pushed for commerce with china.. the eastern does not are transforming into westernised. the eastern does not have been the 1st asian u . s . to conquer a *western u . s .* in Russia.. the Russian Royal family individuals would possibly not have lost as plenty attractiveness.. There would possibly not have been the incident of Pearl Habour,.... sure the snoozing extensive IS unsleeping.. and there are a number of many consequences.

For organized religions - yes, if you include the powerful along with the wealthy.

Often religions are based in the words of a person who is concerned more for spirituality than power. If those words are successful, a hierarchy builds around them whose interest is maintaining and furthering itself. Thus did the words of Moses come to be used by the high priests of judaism, the words of Jesus by the various christian sects and the words of Muhammad by the islamic sects.

Napoleon was a wise little bastard. Religion admits this. Anyone ever have a western civ course? only the rich, royal, and religious had any right to read a bible back in the day....that was 10% compared to the rest of the people. the poor and uneducated were forced to stay in their true place. clueless. the leaders led. the followers followed.

I disagree I am Mormon and very sucessfull and I pay 10% of my income to the religion monthly tithes as instructed by the bible.

Some are the ritchest people are Mormon and pay the same percent. You have to pay tithing to be temple worthy and other things aswell.

In my 10 years owning a company I have found that when I keep the faith and be deciplined I have made more money and recieved the blessings of tithing.

I would say that's exactly what the Catholic Church did a long time ago, but probably not now. Religion is manipulative but faith on the other hand is what's important.

I would agree on specific religions, but not all religions.

Napoleon also said:

"Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded an empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him."
