Does anyone have any advice on miniture tracking devices.
we need to attach to my cat collar, dosnt have to be complex or powerfull, just so we can find him in say 1/2 - 1 mile radius.
All the specific "cat tracking" ones weve found are very very expensive and more "powerfull" than we need (locating GPS & mobile up to 15 miles etc etc).
Any suggestions greatfully recicved due to very mischevious, very precious cat.

I now use a miniture tracking device from catLocator It really works good for up to 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile. what i like is knowing when i do not see my cats around i can check. no monthly cost to worry about. The reason i got it, i have a cat that loves to take off and was gone for 2 months before he come back home. However! it took it's toll on us, looking each evening, putting out flyers etc. non stop! So i would say It's worth it. You can find them @ www.thecatlocator.com

You might not find anything that will fit into your pricerange. The smaller the device, the more it costs. However, I would try google-ing phrases like "spy gadgets."

I have some alternative ideas, however. There are devices you can buy to help you find your keys. It is an electric device that you put on your key chain, or in your case the cat's collar. It has a remote trigger that makes the device on the collar make a loud noise. I would also use this device everytime you feed your cat or give it a treat. If you cat associates his collar making noise with being fed and being rewarded, you might soon find that all you have to do is push a button and your cat will find you! In fact, you might find a loud sound (like an airhorn, for example) that you can use from the porch in the same way, and completely eliminate the need to find something small to put on your cat. I hope that gives you some ideas to help. Good luck!
