I will be going to MEPS in 2 weeks. I had to lose weight in order to get into the coast guard, in order to do so I took ephadrine on several occasions. Will this in anyway show up on a military drug test in a way to disqualify me?

(I do not need your side commentary on the perils of ephadrine so please keep them to yourselves)

Ephedra may show up on a drug test as methamphetamines.. . However, you should be okay, because it moves through your system fairly quickly. THC (the testable component in marijuana) can show up months after use.

it might show up becasue the military sceerns for everything, but it is not would not get you disqulified. they are only considered with prescriptions that are not prescripted to you or illegaly drugs.

It could because it is no longer a legal drug.

This is what they look for here:

"DoD labs are equipped to test for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, LSD, opiates (including morphine and heroin), barbiturates and PCP. But not all samples are tested for all of these drugs."
Received this from: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/theorderlyroom/l/bldrugtests.htm

So you should be ok.
