Ok one more thing! The artist that did my tattoo told me to keep putting A&D on it for 2 weeks. I have been doing that. And I have had no scabbing at all. When will I know when it is really healed?

Ohforgoodnessakes the ink is NOT being drawn out of the skin a week later! Keeping it gooed up with A&D now is just keeping the COLORED peeling skin gooey so it appears as if you are losing color.
Just wash it in the shower normally at this point and use an unscented mild lotion, especially if it itches. When you have questions, AND if you went to a professional tattoo artist, you would be best served to get your questions answered from your artist.
Edit notes: That's good you didn't scab but you are still peeling and everyone goes through that process at a different pace. Expect your tattoo to go through more changes for at least another week after peeling is finished. Use only enough lotion to be absorbed by the skin, never let it build up.

My fiance & I run a tattoo business and your first mistake is that you're still using A&D a week after you got your tat. You should only be using A&D for two to three days after you get inked. Then, you should use any unscented lotion to keep it moist. Lubriderm is good for that. The A&D is actually drawing the ink out of your skin, so when your tat finally heals, it will look blotchy and will most likely need to be touched up.
So, put down the A&D and get yourself some other sort of non-medicated, unscented lotion. Good luck.
Ok...so maybe tatt bratt is right...keep using A&D for two weeks and see what happens....get clogged pores that will cause a rash and end up with a blotchy tattoo. Go right ahead.

if you're saying that a little bit of your tattoo color got onto your shirt, thats totally fine. My tattoo did that too, its just the scabby parts sheding and falling off. I have a tattoo on my lower back and it did the same thing, as long as you're not picking them off yourself, its fine cause you could make the tattoo seem kind of fadish. But the only reason why its doing that is because its just rubbing up against the tattoo and so the color is getting onto your shirt. Anyways, I hope this helps!

nah..not really....you cant really lose the ink that is place that eventually after healed will be showing...is that were true then getting rid of a tattoo wouldnt be such a hard thing to do. Just make sure your not messing with it alot...and if your shirt sticks to your tattoo get a glass of water and pour it on that area and gently lift shirt off that area.

I have tattoos. So does my husband. It sounds like you have kept it TOO moist. Mine didn't "bleed" ink at all after the first day. Wash it every 3-4 hours with antibacterial soap, pat dry, and apply a VERY THIN layer of A&D Ointment. Your just trying to keep it from drying out and flaking. Don't keep it wet. It won't be able to heal. If you keep it to wet it will scab, and as a result you will have spots missing from your ink.
