Of course something can't come from nothing.
Nothing cannot be something.
Nothing is the absence of something.
Something has to be something.
So yes God is something, isn't he.
So therefore He is not nothing.

God is the Unknowable, Uncreated Essence. His incorporeal and non-material, existing beyond time and space. In that sense, He is not a "thing" or "something" as all things are created by Him.
All contingent things must have a cause, which itself must be Causeless. The existence of coldness implies the existence of heat. The existence of poverty implies the existence of wealth. The existence of imperfection, requires the existence of Absolute Perfection. The existence of the contingent, the created, the perishable requires the existence of the Non-contingent, the Creator, the Everlasting, the Self-Susbsting. The evidence for the existence of God is manifest.

You misunderstand. Something can't come from nothing UNLESS you use God to explain the origins of the universe. Then, of course, God can do anything.

When it comes to religion, all rules of logic that religious people demand of others are not required. Therefore, illogical statements made by Christians are reasonable solely because the word god is used.

God created ex nilo---from nothing. God has always existed; therefore he has always been something. This defies human logic, but what else is new?

God is the only self-existent something.
He is the only source of all.
The human mind cannot easily take this in. It defies all logic.
He either have faith or you don't.
That kind of faith can only come from him, honestly seek him with your heart and he will reveal himself to you.
