Well ummmm.....no you are not nocturnal. Sounds like you got your days and nights very messed up though. 13 is a very awkward age to be. Everything is changing one way or another in your life. and if that isn't what is effecting your sleeping, then a question I'm going to ask you is do you smoke or party a lot? Cuz if you do then that could be the cause of your sleepless nights. You need to start training your self to sleep at night. Make your self stay awake during the day and don't have any caffeine or eat about an hour before you want to go to bed. But that shouldn't be to hard to retrain yourself with school durning the day. It's a good thing to do before summer starts.

You might be a nght person, but if you are saying that some mutation occured turning you against the instincts of your ancestors for the past few million years, I SINCERELY doubt it. You can force yourself to get on a normal schedule by perhaps staying up for a full 24 hours or more and then going to bed at a "normal" time. It's worked for me in the past, as I am very much a night person.

Alot of people feel that way. It is normal to you. You do have to be careful of depression, however, and try to get some sun whenever possible. When you start working a third shift job might work better for you. This is something you might want to discuss with your doctor because it could have underlying problems. Just be careful, and take care.

I think sleeping is very much in tune with our habits. If we get in the habit of staying up late, then it's hard to fall asleep early if we aren't used to it. It's important to go to bed around the same time every night and wake up around the same time every morning in order to develop a healthy sleep schedule.

I don't think you are nocturnal. I think you have developed habits that have made it difficult to fall asleep during the times people sleep.

Most early teens tend to get their nights and days mixed up. It's a product of teen culture. Discipline yourself to get up at a set time in the early morning every day and stick to it. You will begin sleeping easily at night.
