but they keep me up by moving around.-How do I retrain them to sleep in their own bed without them crying all night and jump on the side of my bed?

My dog does the same thing! I've taken to just pushing him out of the bed when he gets too much.

But I did find a way to train him to like his own bed. I bought him a doggy bed and instead of restraining him to it and teaching him that it was a punishment thing, I showed him that it was a pretty nice place to be by giving him treats on it, letting him chew pig ears (or whatever chewy thing your dog likes) on it, play on it...
I'd move it into the living room sometimes so that when I watched TV, I could physically put him on this bed and he could feel that he could sleep/rest on this thing with praise. And he did eventually start to like the idea of his bed.

I think the best thing you can do is to teach them that their bed isn't a bad place to be, like I did, make it a really good place. Toys, things to chew on, lots of praise when they relax on it, tell them 'bed' as you praise... and in the middle of the night just push them off with a leg or an arm and tell them 'bed'. Keep it up and praise them when they are off the bed, and when they eventually decide to sleep in their own bed.
Maybe it'd help them if their bed was close to yours too, so they can still smell and hear you.

It might take a while but it should work and it'll be worth it when you sleep the night through! I proved that with my own little furry creature.

Edit: Like someone just said, they are a den animal. Maybe find them a bed with a sort of 'cave' like thing that they can share?

If they are anything like my dogs they will make a habit out of anything you let them do, even once. From then on they think its the law and they have the privilege. It's time to start training them. Never again let them on the bed. Not even when your not in it. Make sure they have a comfortable bed and when you go to bed close your door. And keep the bedroom door closed at all times. They may be upset at first but that's just because they are probably a little spoiled. Be very firm on this and they will get the picture. Remember that dogs lovable as they are, are not children. They are dogs and you need to give them discipline and define their space or you won't have any.

Re-train them, you are a perfect example as to why I refused to allow the puppy to sleep with us. Even if my gal was irked w/ me I would not allow it, and you have the problem I was avoiding. When your dogs jump up you have to take them by the COLLAR and say "OFF" You will probably have a few more sleepness nights before they adhere to you. I on the other hand did what was right from the get go and sleep a full night's sleep.

That would drive me nuts! I never had a problem with my dog wanting to get into bed with me. But she only stayed in the house because she was a puppy. Now that she's bigger we keep her outside.

But my cat on the other hand thinks our bed is hers! I hate that. I bought her one of those little kitty beds and put it on a nightstand beside our bed. Now she sleeps in that instead of on my pillow. Whew!

Try crate training then maybe you can go from there. Dogs tend to be den animals so they will feel more secure. Add treats and toys to the crate so they will associate it with something pleasant.

you could try putting a blanket with your scent on it in the dog basket, make it warm and comfortable for them, with its favorite toys and a bone
