Well, it all depends on your surroundings... If you fast for the results of visions, it can be done in a numerous amount of places. I have heard the best place to do such fasting is to be done out in the wilderness. However I have never fasted in the wilderness, but I have fasted at my own times and at my own places and have experienced that while fasting, meditation becomes easier to reach, the ability to reach visions and visual effects have taken different amounts of time to reach, but the usual effects are from sleep deprivation, and no intake but water, which produces mind altering states, hallucinations, which some regard as visions, mind enlightenment, and some effects of being physically and mentally high, due to chemical reactions within the body and brains circuitry... I have been trying to achieve a positive astral travel experience but have not been able to achieve that state as of yet... As regarding to revalations, there are many, alot of which I keep to myself as reasons that alot of people would disagree with conclusions I have reached...The mind seems to be at times very very perceptive of thought and the feelings of being chemically high without chemicals.. But the best revalations and results are of betterment of myself, by learning and growing spiritually and mentally... Some use aids such as marijuana and/or peyote among the most common ones.

I fasted once... The most profound revelation that I experienced was understanding that God ordained meat fur us to eat it. After having fasted for a day, all I desired was a huge T-bone steak.
