Do you? Some people have been saying this, and I don't think it's true, really-look at World War 1. This was primarily caused by the assasination of Archduke Ferdinand, and the numerous alliances. This had more to do with nationalism than religion.
If you don't think that religion causes all wars, how many do you think it does cause?

Eventually, no. but it is impossible for everyone to accept each others religions. Plus, the very idea of an afterlife is very dangerous in a world where some people aren't happy. It makes them more likely to act out on earth.

The whole Middle East situation right now is based on religion, and how many wars has it caused? A lot. and our original colonialism had a religious element to it, and shaped that region and Africa badly. If you consider Marxism a religion, then we've basically only had religious wars since WW II. I think we're getting better.

This is probably the best question I've seen all day! I think it's natural human behavior to want a war. We lust for blood but when it's all boiled down, you reailze the majority of all wars are over religious beliefs that clash. I think if we all accepted one religion we sure as hell would have alot less to fight over. When we did run into a problem we wouldn't have to fight each other because we'd be able to fall back on this religion we've all accepted. If you read the bible, it talks about the coming of the antichrist who will do exactly what you've said :make everyone (or most people) accept one religion or belief. He is going to try to end all wars.

I do believe that wars are caused by other issues. Sometimes religion is a contributing factor or the excuse used. For instance the extremist Taliban. I believe the leaders have used religion and the institution of it to brainwash followers into doing what they want and becoming "martyrs" for their religious cause. I don't necessarily think that religion was the original cause I think it just fueled their ignorant hatred of a society that is different from theirs.
Which, by the way, happens daily in America. Ignorant branches of religion promote violence and hatred in the name of God. A God which does not in the NT promote such things.
On a different level but still its using religion to promote what you think is right and try to validate a specific agenda.
War can be based on many different factors. Hopefully it is never just one. I am not naive enough to believe that is the case but to think its just for "oil"- could be, in some cases.
Lets not forget the fact that America has sufficient oil reserves of our own to live off of forever if people would stop protecting the forests and natural land and let us be self-sufficient. Society has certainly fueled the need for getting fuel elsewhere. So to blame a govt for fighting a war based on oil is to blame the war on those who stopped the digging for oil on our own soil.
It is always political.

There would still be wars, even if everyone's religions were accepted by eachother. That's because we are all human and have the same feelings so of course if religion is out of the way people will always find something else to not agree upon...like race and other things.

Before I read the details of your question, those were the exact thoughts running through my head. Yeah, religion starts many wars, but not all of them.

You can't both be religious and accept other religions at the same time. Maybe when things are plentiful you can pretend to, but when your people are starving or sick, all of a sudden everything changes.

Pride causes war. Whether it has to do with one's pride in their faith, their land, their ideals or whatever. We all think we're right and we're the best. When someone infriges those ideals on us or when it seems they've got the upper hand, we fight. When our pride is brusied or we're so fluffed up about how "great" we are, we have to reaffirm our ideals on weaker communities that live and believe differently than us.

Yes there would still be wars because you will have people who will never believe in God and allow satan to work within them to creat contentions between the saints.

People cannot serve 2 masters only one.

No , because many of the world's wars and deaths and genocides have been cause by atheists, like Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, et al.
