Fact: A child needs their parents for comfort, protection and guidence. Perhaps, when we become adults we need God to fill in the gap left by the absence of our parents.

It's been noted that feral children have no concept of God. It is highly doubtful that the creation of a "god" is a biological necessity for human beings.

Only a handful of people throughout history have created gods. The rest are simply followers who would follow nothing if the concept of god had not been taught to them.

If God didn't exist, then we as mortal human beings rotating on this small planet in a great big universe, with our very short life spans, would be most miserable indeed! We would have no hope whatsoever beyond the grave, of any existence afterwards. No hope of ever seeing our dead loved ones ever again! We would probably not worship anything, for it is GOD Himself who has created within each of us, the ability to WORSHIP someone or something! God desires that this 'God vacuum' inside the heart of each one of us, be 'filled' with the worship, and adoration of Him and not some so called god(s) or hand made lifeless idols!!!

God DOES exist and some people STILL create their own gods, whether it be money, something material like a car or boat, or even themselves. Very sad.

how do you think someone first came up with the idea of him? you think he really came down from above and introduced himself? man's speculation and constant meditation over why and where we came from led to mystical ceremonies, mayan pyramids, you name it-all of the above. None of it means any one was correct. Yes we all need 'something' rather than 'nothing'. Mostly, faith. faith in something better and more loving than ourselves will set us free - you don't have to be religious to think this. life is hard and we all need that 'something' to hold on to. even if it's just cold hard facts.

I think the adults that think they don't need someone to comfort and protect them have decided God doesn't exist.

Running from love...

How can I say this?

I was doing it.

Bingo! Add in that we are afraid of death and that our tribe's God has to be tougher than their tribe's god (we even capitalize ours, of course)
