My husband has been taking Vytorin for close to 2 years now and has had no problems with it. His cholesterol has dropped incredibly and for the first time in a long time, his Dr. is smiling. He only has to take blood tests every 6 months or so to monitor his liver functions (which is typical for other cholesterol medication).

Please consider asking your doctor that question, yes... But it is also interesting to ask about other alternatives, such as eating properly and using products like oat bran, flaxseed meal, and other natural products to lower cholesterol. Actually, the drug companies don't seem to want you to know that the FDA only autherizes the use of the statin drugs as "adjuncts" to diet and exercise, when diet and exercise fail. All these drugs have toxic side effects. Another issue that your doc and the drug companies don't want you to discuss is a book written in the early 1990's, entitled, The Cholesteol Myth. This book was also published in the New Yorker in an abridged form around the same time. Look it up and be fascinated. Last, but not least, ask your doc about something called c-reative protein and its role in atherosclerosis. Some docs hate informed consumers, and will brush you off if you dare broach these topics. If they brush you off, change doctors! These questions can add years of good health for you. Enjoy Life. Eat Well. Avoid unnecessary medications. Be informed!

Keep in mind your doctor is prescribing things to keep you sick. His income is dependant on you being sick. Does he make money when you are well? No. www.naturalcures.com
