I have a pitbull/lab puppy that my neigbor gave to me. I shouldnt have accepted but Im a sucker for puppies. He is soooo cute 2months old.. blonde coat w/ matching eyes. I wanted to keep him but Im afraid of the "pit" part.. i have a 5yr old daughter, plus I have 2 other puppies (a chiweenie=chihuhua/weeniedog + a st. bernard mix) and my chiwennie is so afraid of him. I could use the extra money, so i just wanted to know how much should i sell him for? He doesnt have any papers or anything like that. He's too precious. Also I want to sell to someone that will not fight him, thats another reason I want to sell him instead of giving him away for free. Im going to give half the $ to my neigbor. How much do you think is a fair price?

Dont sell him, the pit part of him will not make him any worse/agressive than the lab part. it sounds like you love him, which i interpret as him being a good dog. if you havnt had problems yet, i wouldnt worry about it. the fact that he dose fine with your child means he is probably very gentle. so your little dog is scared of him, so what. he will get over it, and you didnt mention the puppy has had a problem with the littler dog, so even better.

JUST BECAUSE HE IS A MUTT does not mean he doesnt have value: people put too much monetary value on dogs, when we buy/adopt them to love and be loved, THINK ON THAT, he has value (sentimental, love, bond, ect).

dont listen to what people say about pit bulls/pit mixes, they tend to be great dogs. the problem is, everytime a dog bites someone, they say pit (pits are the most commonly mis-identified dog) go with your heart, love your dog, socialize them both and they will be fine.

Honestly, you should talk to a shelter or adoption organization about this. Maybe seeing all the work they do, and the wonderful animals they have to euthanize because of idiots like you who allow mixed breed/non-breeding quality dogs to breed. Dad may be show quality, but has he earned anything in the ring? Mom is mixed, so nothing in her pedigree says she had to have these puppies. Don't get me wrong, I love all mixes, I actually prefer them. But I do not think that allowing them to breed, then wonder how much profit you can or can't make, is an ethical thing. It would be great if you could get off your keester, get both parents fixed, and have the puppies adopted to people who sign a Legal Contract to have them fixed as well. Even better, get the puppies neutered befroe they leave your home. Better yet, get involved with a local animal shelter, look into the eyes of animals waiting to die, and justify to yourself why your puppies' puppies will end up like this. Inresponse to your lovely email: The ***** is mixed breed, she should have been spayed before she went into heat. Even though it was an accident (yes, I read the whole post), she could have still been spayed. If you are so busy, why bother having dogs and puppies?

i know you may need the money but i dont think it should be ur major concern when finding a new owner, most important is to find a suitable owner, one who has time, space, suitable family and lfestyle and possibly even dog experience previously would be good too. whats best for dog is most important. i have a staffie/ lab cross dog nearly a year old now, a lovely little thing , i had reservations and worries about the staffie part at first but she is a total softie , a bit of a nutter like all dogs but she is great . im sure this little one of urs is too, u could try to keep her, u sound attatched to her, then try rehome if it doesnt work. my dog had one litter mate and that dog was put down at a few months age cos the new owners couldnt deal with chewing and peeing in the house, so it is important that u can find the right person to take the pup if u cant keep him

While you won't be able to *sell* the puppy exactly, I do encourage you to have the dog completely vetted, including his neuter, and then ask for an *adoption fee*. You may be able to get a courtesy posting on a pit bull rescue's website by doing this. But please, don't just give the dog away. You never know who you are giving it to. And don't think that people who fight dogs won't pay you money for him. They'd be more than happy to give you $50 for him to let their other dogs tear apart for "practice." Know where the dog is going and do a home check.

Well actually it all depends on how you raise your puppies. just cause he has pit in him does not mean he will be mean. It's all about how you raise him. Now if your going to raise him like you don't want him then he will feel like he doesn't need to listen to you. But any way you should keep him and the other puppies will learn to love him as well. Also the other puppies feel what your feeling so they will feel afraid as well. But you should keep him you'll see he'll be a teddy bear. A benefit would be he will protect your kids as well.

If anybody is gonna fight him it doesn't matter some buy them you are better to spend time talking and feeling people out, interview them. You can't sell a mixed breed unless you have vet. money invested shots spay etc. Even then u don't get all of it back.

Do not SELL a mixed breed dog. Find a way to make money, otherwise.

Find a suitable home for this puppy, that's all that should matter.

Just sell him for the money you got into him. He's a mutt and part pit so it's not worth much.

Usually crossbreeds have minimal cash value. But if you have had shots done, and include food etc, maybe you could ask for $50. P.S. They may not have cash value, but I know love is worth so much more.

Mixed dogs that aren't popular and considered "designer" are pretty worthless. You're going to get little to no money for it. You'll be lucky to give it away.
