Because it is a good excuse to build a better border and keep Mexicans out. It is just like 911 was a good excuse to start an unreasonable pointless war.
Many people will die in the East and many will starve in the South. No reason for it really.

The United States Government assigns Police and Military to protect the border with Mexico to stop illegal immigration into America, because if somebody is an illegal immigrant and they commit a crime, the state can't really track them down. I think you're confusing hijackers with immigrants. Hijackers are people who commandeer vehicles illegally (or something else, but we're talking about vehicles). Someone probably wouldn't fly to Canada just to drive into America, because they could still get caught in Canada or at the American border.

The US Border Patrol is on both borders. The reason the National Guard is on the Southern border is simply because it is much more active. As a side note, we have Minutemen along the Northern border as well, last time I was up there, the BP's actually caught 17 people from Pakistan less than a quarter mile from where we were.

because mexicans are coming buy the millions and pose a threat to our very way of life. Canada and the US have great country's. why doesn't mexico

Because our schools are being ruined, our hospitals are closing, our services are being drained and our wages are dropping due to millions who came illegally across the Mexican border.

They protect that border because all the drugs that comes through there alothough to prevent illegal immigrants is kind of weird. If I were US of A i would make it easier for mexican people to immigrate to USA.
