2 years ago my tax credits were stooped due to information misplaced by the IR.They decided to pay me manually and said as soon as they'd resolved the problem they'd let me know.I've now received a bill for £12k saying i've been overpaid as i wasn't entitled, even though i was.I'm at my wits end with worry and of course i'm still not receiving the credits as i should.Any ideas where i should turn for help as the IR just don't want to know.

If you have your own documentation, all you really need to do is resubmit your application.

You could also use documentation to challenge the case. If you don't have your original documentation, they do, and all you need to do is ask for copies. If they don't think they need to do it, get a subpoena. It's yours and you have the right to defend your case. (Anyway, in a court, as a defendant, you'll get copies of everything through discovery anyway.)
