I'm babysitting for the first time today. I've babysat for neices and nephews before but I feel that that isn't reletive to babysitting for children you've never met before. I've never met the parents either. It's a 4 and 11 year old. What should I expect?? And do you have any tips for me?

How come you never met them before? Are you going w/ a friend to babysit? The parents will probably give you their expectations and #'s to reach them. If you are going to their house they should have all the toys and things there the kids like. Find out from the parents what kind of schedule the kids follow, bed time, how much tv time, any thing off limit?,etc. Also important find out if the kids are allergic to anything or if they have any medical conditon you should know about.

wow, the 4 will be fun (most are) that one will want to play games (if they have any age appropriate),watch tv, read a book or two, have a snack, puzzles, they can be real fun at that age, mine is 5. the 11 well, they have a mind of their own but they like video games, movies, you really wont have to do much for this one, except maybe if you like to play cards , thats something you can teach them and they will catch on real fast. they also like to eat......maybe they will have something you can make or maybe they can help you with it. I have a 12 and 14 also. all boys. I am sure whatever you do, will be fine, except talk on the phone and pay no attention to them wont be. have fun and it can be if you want it to.
