Please ignore all of the above people who live in Ireland and work for Dell. My sister buys Dell for the large company she works for for one thing only, they are cheap. Their support is crap too.

The Acer's a good spec for the money although you could get a dual core processor from currys for the same money, smaller screen though.

Check out www.ebuyer.co.uk they are a great site and will deliver next day.

I can definately recommend acer. We got two in our house and looking for a third for my daughter. Very impressed with both models. Please remember that most computer problems are caused by the user AND not beacause there is a fault with the hardware. What ever you buy please ensure the first thing you do is run a set of master dvd's off so you can recvover your operating system if you get a problem later on. Can't believe all the idiots out there who don't do this then ask on here 'How can I re-install windows'

Good luck with whatever you buy

Very happy Acer owner

I phoned dell when I needed a desktop computer for the first time

- you can get their number from the website by googling the name dell uk or usa or depending on your country.

I was able to speak to a person on the phone and say what I needed the computer to do, get a few suggstions and then say what my price limit was.
You can also do something similar on the website, but I still found too much technical jargon for me to make sense of it all.

I think at pc world they do a similar thing in store but not sure how they work in regards to commission and stuff. I know with dell all the computers are built from scratch to your definitions which makes it easier to get a suitable computer as oppose to paying for one with a good name but not many applications you have any us for.

This looks like a pretty decent deal to me. Try checking out http://www.dealcatcher.com and see if you can find another laptop on there with similar features.

Acer and Dell are known for their cheap products, but they're not great and don't last long. They also don't have great support.

Dell are doing fantastic deals at the moment.

Starting from £329 including VAT and shipping (a pretty decent spec too!).

If I was buying a laptop now, I wouldn't go anywhere else...
