ok.. it is a necklace that you were around your neck and if you fall or something happens and you are unable to get to a phone to call for help all you have to do is just push a button and i think that an ambulance comes or something.. but i am not sure what happens when you push the button.. anyways.. i am wondering what they are called and if anyone out there know how i might go about getting one for someone???

you can have a Life line call bell, a Med alert necklace and there are several others it depends on where you live.they have other ones. it all depends where you live.
when you push this button then it automatically calls into your local dispatch and they start the appropriate emergency service to your house they will try to reach you at your house but if you can't reach the phone they will send the police and an ambulance because the life line and med alert are for people who have them just because they live alone and heave a tendency to fall and not be able to get to the phone

Whatever the name of those products, here is what they actually do. Alert the service, or business, whose product was purchased. They do not call 911 or an ambulance service directly. Therefore, the company you called must determine info from you (or determine an "unknown situation"...I hope) and then RELAY the appropriate info to the responding department(s) or services. I do not believe these types of alarms are GPS...so what happens if the owner-user is not at the address known to the provider, and the caller cannot communicate otherwise?
