Okay I am a 18 year old female and inbetween the bottom of my earlobe and right before my jaw starts there is a HARD lump. It hurts if I put pressure on it and its less that a half of an inch wide. Can anyone please tell me whats going on?!

It sounds like it is a swollen gland. My grandson had the same thing. He went to the doctor and she gave him some antibiotics and it went away. I suggest that you go to your doctor to have him look at it.

You did the right thing posting to yahoo! I can walk you through this; It should not take more than a few minutes.
1. If you don't have a scalpal try to locate a sharp steak knife
2. Do you have any anesthesia? If not we will just skip this part
3. What we need to do is remove the growth without affecting the ear drum canal or the vocal chords
4. carefully make an small cut from one end of the lump to the other
5. Now you are almost there. Breathe normal and once the growth is removed you will need a sewing kit. I hope this helps

It could be a boil that is getting ready to pop. You can try a medicine called PRID. It will help bring the boil to a head and then it will release. Good Luck!!! They are very common in that location especially if you have peirced ears. An infection can drain down through your earlobe.

You might have an infection, you do have a gland in that area. Do you have a mild headache, or cold symptoms? Do you have pierced ears, are they healthy? That's all I got for you, if you find it not getting smaller anytime soon, I'd see the doc.

It could be an enlarged lymph node. I would go to the doctor and have it checked out, sometimes if you are battling an infection, they can pop up.
Hope you feel better soon.

COULD BE A CYST UNDER THE SKIN T FIX IT THEY WOULD PROBIBLY HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT WITH A LITTLE INCITION. BU THATS THE WORST CASE. TRY RUBBING IT FOR AWHILE ONCE A DAY. SEE IF IT GOES DOWN.

Do you have any bad teeth back there? This can be a factor.

Only a Dr. can answer that. Probably a dermatologist. Go if it doesn't disappear soon or grows.
