Or can I just tile around it? If not, will the toilet fit back on the floor with the added width of the tile. Or will I need to adjust something on the toilet.

Yes, if you are going over concrete use floor leveler, if your going over wood you may need to put down a tile board or float the floor so the tile doesn't crack from the flex in the floor. you will also need to remove all the baseboards. You need to remove the toilet because you run the tile under it. After grouting the floor you will need to replace the wax ring and add extensions on the bolts before replacing the bowl. Good Luck.

sure its ultimate to eliminate each little thing however the cement board is 3/8 to a million/2 in. thick and the tile being located on that could be a pair of a million/4 to 3/8 counting on the quantity of skinny set used. are you able to place a threshold down on the entrance to handle for this distinction in top? And if the wood under the tile floor isn't a minimum of a million in. thick then the flexing of the floor will continuously reason cracking of the grout lines if not the tiles them self. those are a pair issues human beings forget while needing a tile floor. solid luck

yes remove the toilet, depending on the thickness of the thinset & tile you shouldn't have any problems putting the toilet back. You can get an extra thick wax gasket or double the gasket if needed (Make sure the double gasket is kind of molded together first). If you don't remove the tile you could get grout or thinset on the toilet & attach the toilet to the tile. If you have future issues with the toilet you might have to demolish it.

yes, remove the toilet, then you will probably just need a wider wax ring and longer bolts.
