Because unfortunately as human creatures we need to be able explain everything in our little "universe's" therefore the need to put God in a box and timeframe. We feel safer if we can make a timeline for God and His workings, hence all the debate about end times and when/if He will return or if there will be a silent rapture. But I agree with you, it is not for us to worry over such things and we would be much better off the just let God be God!

Because people are seeking answers. They want to know all about the world they live in. Some want answers because they love this creation and view it as a gift from God.
Other's want answers because they believe that this knowledge will give them power over it.
The past is as important as the future. It is the tangiable thing that we have in order to learn from. It is how we learn to cure and not kill, how we learn of other's mistakes so that we do not repeat them as our own.

There are lots of irrelevant issues like this one that don't really matter and are used to cloud the more important issues of how one should conduct them selves in a Godly manner. The rapture is another one.

Well, we shouldn't let our interpretation of the Scriptures get in the way of a relationship with God, but it is always good to determine what you believe and why.

it's just an interesting topic, and if we found out how god did create the universe, then it could give us insite on what the truth of religion really is.

Because you see some of us prefer to think for ourselves and come to our own conclusions. The only way to do that is to ask lot of questions and demand logical answers.

There will always be doubters, people who want proof, and people who just want to knock holes in the "proof." They don't have faith, obviously, so they can't understand us that do.

People care about truth. That's just the way we are - it's human nature.
[Well, some people do anyway!]
