This question or rather a query for my Mormon friends. A group group you are, clean and pure from the get go. My god, you won't even touch Diet cola!
Anyway, I'm wondering if there are any areas of the United States that you know of that consider polygamy legal, or will at least "turn the other way" when you have multiple spouses?
Hypothetically, if I was a man married to a European women of slightly above average beauty, and had two children (one a genius, the other a real blah) and I met a Korean women who was threatening to expose my relationship with her to my peers unless we "committed" to each other, is there any state I could "marry" her in?
Also, if I do end up having a "marriage" ceremony, are there any notification laws that I would have to inform my real wife?

Well, like I said on the other post- I will not betray you to the family, and legally such unions can only occur in other countries. The Korean temptress should only be regarded as such, until you find the strength to leave her...I hope you can.
Man. Yeah maybe Asia, or SouthAmerica, or Russia will look the other way...I don't feel what is thought of as morally wrong, it is just that our conditioned society makes it so.
But I am happy with one wife...two would be maddening.
Take care of your passions...faith bro'

Hypothetical? Really? Ok, if you really want us to think this isn't you for real, I'll play along.
"Hypothetically" your crazy for cheating on your wife to begin with, and a real loser to call one of your kids "a real blah".
"Hypothetically" you would have to join one of the FLDS (fundamentalist LDS) faiths before you could conceivably have multiple wives. Even then, by the time you "hypothetically" qualified, your "hypothetical" Korean woman would have already spilled the beans.
There are no notification laws because this is an illegal practice by the un hypothetical US government. There are no REAL states that would "turn a blind eye" to a plural marriage.
I did read an article from the AP several months ago about five Arab women who all decided to marry their taxi driver. In that country women aren't allowed to drive, and these women worked as teachers in another town. There was some advantage to the marriage, like they didn't have to pay their taxi driver anymore or something. So "hypothetically" you might want to look into Islam.
UPDATE: Disposable!!! DISPOSABLE!!! NO ONE is DISPOSABLE!! JERK!

Hmmmm........I don't think that you will find any state in the U.S. that condones polygamy. Sure some break away sects that associate themselves with the LDS church practice polygamy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not allow polygamy in any form. We firmly believe in following "the law of the land".
Besides, I don't think I could handle more than 1 wife! I'll just happily keep the one I have!
It sounds like you have a bit of a conundrum to deal with. You had best admit your indiscretions to your wife and work things out. Families are way too precious to fritter away for some temporary gratification. Get some outside help too. You will need all the support you can muster. Good luck!
Historical note: Back when the Mormons were being persecuted in New York and Missouri, many of the men died or where imprisoned. Women were left homeless and with no income. The law at that time was that you could not co-habitate with a woman unless you were married to her. Many men married their wives sisters and friends to be able to take them into their homes and provide them with shelter.

It's illegal period! That is a "wrong" that could never be corrected. It's a no win situation with blackmail. If you give in it will only be adding fuel to the fire. It may be now, it may be later, but your wife will find out! If the Korean girl loved you she wouldn't put you in that situation. Confess, hope and pray. Learn the lesson.

To be honest, I've never met any Mormons who still practice polygamy, and many that I have met denounce polygamy and are offended if you mention it. I also know of no place (at least in the US) where it's legal.

I'm not a Mormon but I'm a lawyer and, no, it's not LEGAL! There may be areas where they look the other way but it's illegal in all 50 states.

One of the things that is peculiar about this is that the BoM is quite specific as to monogamy. How the polygamy business got started is not at all clear.

I wouldn't want to keep any woman long enough to marry them, much less two. Just get what you came there for and bail. And no thanks to Christian nutjobs you can't legally marry two women in any state,so much for religious freedom I guess since a couple of religions allow polygamy.
