The eggs that you buy in the store have not been fertilized.

Store eggs are not fertilized and would not become chicks, sometimes a fertilized egg gets through. They can sometimes be bloody on the inside. In some cultures they are eaten and are considered a delicacy. In the Philippines fertilized eggs are called Balut.

Both eggs are chicken eggs.

The hatched eggs have been fertilized and incubated while the store bought eggs just go directly to processing and packaging.

solid grief. the place did that instructor attend college? Does she have a coaching certificates?I helpful wish she isn't coaching biology. possibly at one time fertilized eggs have been offered in shops as they got here from farms and that is possible some eggs have been fertile. Now hens are raised in isolation and haven't any get entry to to roosters. Chickens are actually not asexual. they are male (roosters) or woman (hens) The women human beings mate with the roosters who fertilize the eggs. The fertile eggs are laid, incubated via the hens or incubator and Voila---chicks.

A chicken can lay eggs without them being fertilized by a rooster. The un-fertilized eggs are sold in stores. No egg that has been fertilized is allowed to be sold.

Eggs are fertilized in the traditional fashion (mommy chicken + daddy chicken = baby chickens).

You CAN buy fertilized eggs for consumption, but who would want to??

The ones you buy in the stores are typically NOT fertilized, although you will occasionally find one that slips through and actually is. Its VERY rare though.

Eggs that you eat have not been hatched. Its sad. In India where I stay they take the fresh eggs from the chicken and then sell them at the store saying fresh farm eggs for sale and it costs more. They are also healthier too. I sometimes feel sad coz I had a chicken and dad took it and ate all her eggs each day and lastly ate her too. Childhood memory. Bye

If a hen is not fertilized by a rooster (male chicken) then the egg will be discarded. A hen will "brood" (sit on) an egg that is fertilized-she know by instinct which is and which is not.
