Cast Iron is the best! aluminum seems to burn the food more!

Stainless steel is best for boiling water. Aluminum will give off aluminum oxide particles. Cast iron rusts unless you keep it oiled.

18/10 stainless steal is the best. Aluminum can cause alzheimers. Cast iron is okay, but heavy and hard to handle. Silcone or non stick pans are toxic-they release chemicals into the food and air. Cooking with teflon or non stick pans will kill pet birds, and quickly, so its likely not good for you either. I recommend stainless steal.

Depends on what you are going to cook. If you are just boiling water, stainless steel is probably over-kill. Aluminium is usually cheaper, and will do just as good for boiling water. If you are going to boil other liquids, especially those that have reactive qualities with aluminium (acidic), you might want to go with stainless steel. If you want a good all-round usable cooking pot, go with All-Clad Stainless Steel pot. I've had my All-Clad for about 5 years now, and I love it.
