I am more concerned about my eternal home in heaven.....
The devil can have this place if he wants it.......it's not my permanent home.

No. I think many are very concerned about an afterlife. Unfortunately, it's the type that punishes non-believers with an eternity of hellfire.
I've been warned of this from creationists and radicals because I do not believe in deities. Then I see their smug smiles as they state how they are going to heaven and know it.
I would be far happier if all religions were more concerned with improving life on earth by dealing with rational issues like ending poverty and lack of access to healthcare (including contraception), instead of threatening non-believers with their god's "judgement."

As a Christian, I am very concerned with what I see going on around me here on this earth. People are sick and dying everywhere, and I feel helpless.
If I could have my way, there would be no more greed, no more poverty, no more hunger, and especially no more war.
Am I concerned with an afterlife? Well, I am looking forward to a time when there will be no more sickness and no more death, for sure..
A day will come when Jesus will have His way, and there will be no more greed, no more poverthy, no more hunger...and especially no more war.

I am not concerned about the after life. Why? Because the Lord is with me and is faithful, so long as I hold to Him my place is known.
I am concerned about those here. Why? I would hate to know that there was someone who could be saved or spared and didn't hear. I wouldn't want anyone to suffer who didn't have too, and who hasn't chosen too. So while I'm here, I will help as many as I can.

Yes and no. Yes, because as a Christian you know that what you do on earth affects what will happen in the afterlife. Everything we do will be judged in the afterlife.
No, because living according to God will lead to a great reward in heaven. Nothing to worry about if we truely are obedient to God.

Most religions lose touch with concepts of the afterlife. They talk about it, but I fear that none of them really have a full grip of what they are talking about when they do speak of it. When it comes to Christianity, there is not alot of meditation enforced, so the mental bonding to the spirit/astral plane isn't as great as, for example, Hinduism, or whatever.

By the way most of them live it can be said that they are concerned only for themselves, which will result in a one-way ticket to hell. Calling oneself a Christian is no guarantee that it is true. The heart tells the truth.

It's not either/or. We're concerned with both this life and the next but our home and hope is in heaven. If we only were concerned with earthly matters, we'd be of this world. If we were only concerned with heavenly matters, we'd be useless here.

I am definately concerned with living the best life I can right now here on earth and trying my utmost (it is difficult sometimes) to follow Christ's commandment.
I believe if you are focused on that, the afterlife will not be a concern. When the rich merchant asked Jesus what he must do to attain everlasting life, Jesus said:
Luke 10:26-28
He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and THOU SHALT LIVE.
Yes it is as SIMPLE as that! Those who are preoccupied with what reward they are getting may get get puffed up and count their chickens before they hatch.

I'm not that concererned as a Christian because I know where I will spend an etenity. It has been settled. It pains me that others don't know and don't care. Jesus said, "The road to Heaven is narrow and many will not find it, but the road to Hell is wide and many will find it".
Soo Sad.
