The First Precept:Abstain from killing.
Is abortion killing?
From Buddhist perspective it is.
Sometime, things are not as straight forward. When an abortion is carried out because of medical, social reasons, etc, the deed is still unwholesome but the result might be proper.
Hope this helps.
Metta to all.

Judaism and Hinduism have faith abortion is okay to save the life of the mummy yet no longer for mere convenience. Islam teaches abortion is a sin like Christianity. Buddhism takes no stance on abortion. maximum pagan religions from what I certainly have examine additionally take no stance in this subject count. God bless! +?+

Well, in all fairness, I have never heard a religion say anything. Besides, are you buddhist? Ask your Lama. If you are not buddhist, then from what position are you positing the question. Matters such as this, that are implicitly loaded, are intensely personal and not up to people as stupid and ignorant as myself to ask, or answer. I can barely find my butt with both hands.

It doesn't say anything about abortion, but I would think the theory would lead you to think that their agianst it- it say killing is a sin, the follower of true buddhist need to be a vegetarian-those monks in temple are all vegetarian, but it also said it's suffering for lives to be born into this world, because human being works hard to live and have to deal with illness and death. It also said, if you can avoid carnal temptations avoid it. I guess that support abstinence too.

Life is treasured in the Buddhist train of thought, since life is the key to enlightenment. So buddhism would consider it an abomination as most religions do.

Anything that causes harm and suffering isn't (NOT) virtuous activity... but forcing other people to subscribe to your pov isn't either.
