I just bought this soy protein powder...I mix it like the directions say with water or milk...I personally prefer milk....yet i still get this chalky taste in my mouth, like it has not been mixed. I mix it for a while yet it never seems to get dissolved.

I am new to this....is this how it is suppose to taste?? or is it my brand?? any recommendations??

Soy protein is the worst kind of protein there is. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on it.

It is the brand. A good soy protein does not taste chalky. I use and recommend Energizing Soy Protein and it tastes really good. It contains no cholesterol, saturated fats, or artificial flavors or preservatives. It is needed to make and repair all tissue cells. It's necessary for building enzymes, antibodies, hormones, hair, skin, nails, it curbs the appetite, and is a real "energy" booster and maintains your blood sugar level.

If interested in the brand or have any questions, feel free to contact me.

It's probably your brand, but protein powders tend to have an unusual consistency like that, and you do get more used to it with time, but it will never be exactly "pleasant". Soy protein is pretty good, but powders made of it are less effective. I'd recommend you drink soy milk (SILK is a good brand) for your soy protein, and for a powder, use whey protein. Whey is also more effectively processed by the human digestive system, so you get more for your money.
Also, always remember to use a small spoon when you mix it, and stir like it beat your mother.

They never taste good, and yes, soy has a chlaky texture. Use milk that is not too cold, blend in blender and then add ice cubes.
Next time, buy whey protein, it's easier to digest and metabolize.

I use spirutein which is a soy protein mix. I like it with milk, ice, and sometimes throwing a few fruits in there like bananas or strawberries.
