i am on weight reduction plan, tried on my own with healthy food, exercise etc and managed to reduce 25pounds easily. i eat more veggie food, fruits. but recently i read somewhere that we should not take fruits soon after regular meal... is that true? i usually eat some fruits soon after my lunch and dinner. is it harm in any way?

if so, what is the minimum duration after meal to consume fruits?

Read "Fit for Life". They talk about the stages of digestion. They recommend eating fruit for breakfast, but nothing else. They say not to eat fruit with other food and to eat it on an empty stomach at least an hour prior to eating other food, because the fruit will cause other food to ferment in your stomach. It's not harmful, but just a healthier way to eat, they claim. Very interesting book.

Because of the natural fructose in some fruits; I'll eat fruit with meals up until around 3 pm. That gives my body time to burn those natural sugars as fuel during the day. As far as duration, I don't think it would really matter. I even have a piece of fruit immediately after a.m. protein shakes because I want something difficult to digest along with those "meals" to keep hunger away until lunch. After 3 p.m. though, it's high protein foods/shakes and very low fructose/sugars. Good luck!

Consume protiens and grains first, then follow with veggies and fruit. It aids digestion and is easy on your stomach, plus it divides your meal into portions, which will help control how much you eat at one time, and kind of breaks a meal into the small meals that are supposed to be better for us. Hope this helps.

I don't think it matters how long after your meal should you eat fruit.
I eat fruit first thing in the morning; an orange or a banana, sometimes both. Your body draws out the max from fruit when you eat it in the morning. Or so I've heard...
