Cranberry juice (with no added sugar) has really been the only food item ever recommended to reduce UTIs.

According to several sites on sexual health, regular sex can increase the number of UTIs that a woman can get. I've included 3 sites that give information on reducing your tendency to get UTIs. Also, if you get kidney infections (not bladder infection), you should see an internal medicine doctor. Something else may be up.

I've also included a Cochrane review (which reviews studies that both support and don't support) which indicates that there is no certainty that cranberry juice actually works as a preventative (not a cure). Doesn't hurt though and many women have reported personally that they have fewer UTIs.

Finally, here's a link to the National Kidney Foundation which has some answers as well.

Cut down on your sugar intake and also try to be as hygienic as possible.
The biggest culprits are too-tight clothing, synthetic fiber underclothing (cotton is THE BEST), and not urinating and washing your genitalia immediately after intercourse.
Try also using AZO Cranberry supplements (cranberry juice isn't good at this point because it contains sugar, which will only feed the bacteria in your urinary tract).

There is the possibility that even with dietary and lifestyle changes, you may still need several courses of antibiotics. This is because different strains of bacteria are occasionally resistant to certain drugs; if one doesn't work then you may need to try a different antibiotic.

Seriously though, you really need to see a doctor because if you continue to leave the infection untreated or under-treated, you could end up doing serious damage to your kidneys.

What are you drinking? You need to lay off coffee, soda and anything besides water and cranberry juice til it clears up. Then make sure you are drinking plenty of water each day!

Drink a shot of vinegar everyday. Tastes horrible but works really well. Also stay away from alcohol and sugar as these feed the bacteria. Drink lots of water and pee as soon as you feel the urge.

cranberries are usually also available in the US in pill form, you might want to look into that. also, i once was told by a nurse when i had frequent UTI's that buttermilk helps, although i never tried it.

Cranberry juice, but be sure it has at least 75% real juice or it wont work.

You need to go back to the doctor immediately. You should be tested for diabetes. I don't know why you would be afraid to go? UTIs are infections. No food, drink or natural remedies are going to cure it.

Go to the doctor.
