According to Dr. Oz, many foods common today contain ingredients that cause the satiety (satisfaction) part of our brain to get sluggish. The most common foods that cause this are any that contain refined/enriched/white flour or high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Studies have clinically shown that rats given a diet high in HFCS tend to eat more often and, thusly, get fatter.

I've had great success with his diet which recommends avoiding tactics that will simply make you hungrier. Focus on foods high in fiber because they will "stay with you" longer. Make your earlier meals larger than your late ones (e.g. large breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner) and never eat within 4 hours of bedtime. 20 minutes before a meal, eat a snack with a high fat content (GOOD fat, like nuts or an avocado). Since fat takes longer to digest, you will find yourself naturally eating less at meals. Also, no one knows why right now, but drinking green tea helps you lose weight. People with no other change in their diet or exercise routine who drank a couple of cups of green tea a day dropped a couple of pounds over 3 months. Not much by itself, but every little bit helps!

Even with all these tricks, though, the biggest things you have to do are control your portions and exercise at least 30 min's daily. Oh yeah, and water, water, water! Get at least 64 oz. a day!

Hope this helps!

To start with, stay away from processed sugars because your body will still think that you haven't eaten after a short period of time. Try to eat hard to digest foods like apples, nuts, carrots, and other fruits/vegetables. Try to drink as much water as possible to help you keep a "full" feeling. You can still eat every 2.5 - 4 hours a day, and probably need to because your metabolism sounds extremely high. I can't tell what your age is from reading your post. If your very young and not over 21; eat whenever you want. You're probably just going through a growth spurt and need to eat. If it's a serious problem and you're obese; check with your doctor.

Be sure to drink lots of water. A lot of hunger pains are quenched by hydration. Carry around water with you all the time and you will be less likely to munch out!
