Don't you hate when there's complete silence in person or on the phone? What to do?

Sometimes,I say "awkward silence",and the conversation starts up again.Sometimes that doesn't work and I just have to tell them that something came up,and I have to go.I try again,if it's someone I just met.If it becomes a pattern,I accept that I just don't click with that person.

Silence makes most of us uncomfortable...especially on the phone since you can not see them so you're doubly unsure of
how they're thinking or feeling at the moment

The worst is to fill it with "jabberwalky" You begin to sound like a fool and you can't stop.

I wait at least 30 seconds (which seems like an eternity sometimes) and then say: "Oh! I have another call/ Oh my mom is calling/; oh the door bell is ringing/ oh I've run out of things to say to you. Which one sounds best to you?

My Wife and I just sit and look into each others eyes, cuddle and kiss a while, then we talk about what ever pops up. Silence isn't always threatening, if you are in Love.

yeah i hate it when that happens u should say "a gay baby was born" in every silence or "akward silence" and then a new conversation about something connected to that or something

Ask open ended questions like rapid fire! None of those "yes" or "no" questions. It's the best way to get the communication going.

Make an excuse to hang . Like it is getting late , i need to go to sleep so I can dream about you. Girls love the cheesy lines.

Yes, oh, I was going to say something then but I dried up. I'll get back to you when I think of it.
