Hell is not a permanent literal place. It is being without God and turning away from God to please yourself.

Just so you know, that question was answered 2000 years ago. (James 2:19 NIV) "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder." (Mat 8:29 NIV) "What do you want with us, Son of God?" the demons shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?" (Jude 1:6 NIV) "And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day." (The Devil is one of those fallen angels.) (Rev 19:20 NIV) "But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur." (Rev 20:10 NIV) "And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

So I guess the answer is - absolutely, he does.

Why wouldn't Satan believe in Hell? In the Christian tradition he believes in God - so hell shouldn't be that big of a deal to him.

Christians would say that he will really believe in hell when he is cast down into it in the final days.

So I suppose it doesn't matter whether or not he believes.

Thats kinda like asking if Satan believes in God. I'm quite sure Satan knows there is a Hell. He knows also that unless he does something to change his fate, hes doomed to it.

Most definitely the devil believes in hell. If you doubt it next time you are tempted or reminded of your past mistakes just remind him of his future and see the temptation shrink away.
