Mary: Don't worry baby, it's immaculate.
Joe: OH IT BETTER BE!

Of course Joseph got to hit many times after that considering how many siblings Jesus had (something like 4 brothers and 3 sisters mentioned in the gospels). But I bet he wasn't happy that she was already "loose" from childbirth once.

Of course the whole thing came about from a mistranslation. It was confusion from the old Hebrew word "Almah" which means "young woman" or "unmarried girl". When it was translated to Greek there wasn't an actual equivalent word so they used one that means both "unmarried girl" AND "virgin" (the two were synonyms at the time). Of course the virgin use was more common and so that is what actually spread.

Being a man, he probably was angry. The law at the time said that Joseph could have had Mary stoned to death or sent to another country to live. He had a visit from an angel who told him the truth of what really happened. He then took a great walk in faith and accepted Mary and her child and raised Jesus as his son. It took more courage and more of a man to do what he did. Joseph's words are not in the bible, only his actions. That is why he is the great saint he is today.
He shows us what true love is and how not to let people down who really need us.

He probably did. According to the dogma, Mary was impregnated via the ear canal by the Dove of the Holy Spirit. So I'm guessing Joe still got to bust the cherry. Either that or Jesus ripped it on the way out (and talk about labor pains).

Calm down now. Reach down and pull those tight drawers out of the crack of your butt and And don't bust a blood vessel. Yes it's ok just a little scratch. Now calmly go set in the chair by the front door. We are sending someone in a white suit for you. She will have something to calm your nerves

I thought that the whole "virgin" thing was due to a mistranslation, and that the word for virgin was the same as for 'young woman'.

The Hebrew dictionary translates almah as meaning either a child of marriageable age or as a childless young woman. From this definition, either translation could be correct, since in either case she may or may not be a virgin.

I'm not sure- but I think that this is well researched discussion of the issue, but from a christian religious perspective.

it seems very clear to me after reading this that it is a mis-translation, but since it was written from the christian perspective- at the very end it says that, she must be a virgin since that's what history has chosen. (ah... theists, even when trying to be rational, they cannot get over their programming)

The Jewish meaning of the word virgin is: an unmarried girl or woman. So someone got to Mary if it was not Joseph.

In the House of Islam there was no Joseph.

The Jews would have stoned them to death for fornication, cos it tells us in the Bible Mary was not married.

And what do you mean by "Hit it first" have respect.

More than 2.5 billion people (Christians and Muslims) believe Mary, Jesus and the miracle surrounding the birth of Jesus.

Nope. He was as happy as can be that his woman was bestowed with such an honor. How man men today can truly feel the same way about their women? 1, 2? Maybe 1 or 2 after about, what, one year?

Actually yes he was. He wasn't going to marry her when he found out she was pregnant. An angel was sent to him and told him it was okay and who the child really was. He married her and raised Jesus.

Yes, it took an angel from God to lighten him up.
Additionally, he never "hit it" ( as you put it) as Mary is still a virgin.
