Of course, there is no Hell so the question is moot but I'm curious what the Christians think.

Why is nobody answering the question?

I know what a fiery hellist is, but what is a grave hellist?

I'm christian and I don't actually believe in either of these concepts of hell (though I'm not sure since I don't know what a grave hellist is.) And who argues about which hell is more correct?

The concept of hell I believe in involves punishment, but it happens because when you die you are brought before God and will remember everything you have ever done with a perfect recollection. The actual torment is a byproduct of natural human guilt and being unable to escape from your own mind. I'm sure God can fix those people who don't actually feel guilt for anything.

No disrespect intended, but I really should write this up somewhere since the question comes up so often. :-)

Hell is not a fiery place one goes to after death. It is part of greek mythology which said that the path to the afterlife was via the fiery River Styx. Hades was the God of that underworld.

Hades, is in fact the greek word for "hell" but it really means nothing but man's common grave. If an afterlife existed where the wicked were punished for eternity, why does Ezekiel 18:4 say that "the soul that is sinning, it itself will die. In addition The Apostle Paul at Romans 6:7 said "For he who has died has been ACQUITTED from his sins."

Finally, God condemned the ancient Israelites for imitating the rituals of the Pagan nations around them. This included making their children pass through the fire in sacrife to the god Molek "a thing that [he] had not commanded and that had not come up into [his] heart (Jeremiah 7:31.) Why would he do to his "children" something he'd condemned the Israelites for doing to theirs?

I hope that helps.

If you want a good anti-hellfire arguement, get a JW to give you their supporting information from the bible. It is quite compelling. They also do not even believe in an afterlife UNLESS you are deliberately resurrected by God. They believe that death is final and means total non-existance.

If you want a good pro-hellfire arguement, get a Pentecostal's point of view and they will also support it from the bible as well.

I believe in fact that ALL will eventually reach salvation and here are MY biblical supporting scriptures for this:

1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall ALL be made alive.

1 Timothy 4:10
We trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL men, especially of those that believe.

1 John 2:2
He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD.

Psalm 30:5
For his anger endureth but a moment.

Jeremiah 3:12
I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever.

Micah 7:18
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

I've gone and added another wrench in the works have I? LOL!

HELL EXPLAINED BY A CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.

The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

^v^v.._____I FLAT-LINED, DIED______

____I MET JESUS CHRIST !!______

I hope you know Jesus :)

I DIED AND MET him when I was a teen.
He is real. He is tha one who beats hearts while many dont think about it.

God loves you. Even if you dont know or love him.
In my Fathers house are many mansions. But why should you be there in peace, if you do not KNOW him, then why should you be there? :(
Only those that want God are there. Only those that would dare to TRUSt what they cant yet see.

It is sad that many think that God is not real and keeping Life here alive.
But daily we know we need a power source to use our machines, which use plugs & electrcity or even battery power. I know tha one who keeps your heart beating and gives you breath all while you may not be aware of him.
He gives you breath cause he loves you. Thank God he gives breath, but he wants to give you real LIFE too. ;)
